Missing Disney cruise ship worker’s credit card used
Family are offered fresh hope that Rebecca may still be alive
It has been over a month since Rebecca Coriam went missing from the Disney Wonder but recent activity on her bank account has given her family fresh hope that she may well still be alive.
Rebecca went missing from the Disney Wonder as the cruise ship was en route to the Mexican Riviera in March. Her sudden disappearance still remains a mystery as police have not found any evidence to suggest foul play.
In a recent twist of events Rebecca’s mother Anne last week received an email from her daughter’s bank that reported “financial acitivity” on the missing girl’s account post her disappearance.
Rebecca’s father Mike said: ‘This could be a very significant development. The fact that her credit card’s been used could only mean someone has stolen it or she’s still alive. We’ve never believed she simply disappeared overboard and drowned. I have always felt she is still alive. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that she is out there somewhere.’
Speaking at the family home in Chester, Mr Coriam said he was keeping the exact details of activity on the account confidential to avoid hampering police enquiries.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: ‘We are in touch with the Bahamian authorities. Any financial irregularities would be handled by the police.
