Deliziosa

Costa Deliziosa offers a smaller, sleeker alternative to big ships and prides herself on her ability to pass through narrower channels like the Panama and Suez Canals, servicing exotic destinations that larger vessels can’t. The best part is that despite the smaller size, guests still enjoy the same spacious suites and grand entertainment available on Costa's other vessels. This ship is the art of seduction and enchantment, and guests have the ability to indulge and fulfil every desire. Costa Deliziosa is delicious by name and by nature, as the new diamond in the fleet, created to provide you with a unique sensory experience.

She is one of the newer ships in the fleet and has every modern feature you would expect, with a few little added extras. For those who want to remain active whilst onboard, there is an outdoor jogging track, gym, fitness centre, and a multi sports court for tennis, basketball and volleyball. The ship also has four swimming pools, two outside with a magrodome cover and a water chute. Some of the ship's unique entertainment facilities include a 4D cinema, a roller skating track, Sony Playstation3 game consoles in every stateroom, an 18-hole golf simulator, outdoor putting green, Grand Prix racing car simulator and a big screen on the central pool deck.

One of the jewels in the crown of the Deliziosa is her 3,500 metre-squared double deck Samsara Spa. This Asian-inspired oasis specialises in thalassotherapy, which is treatments that use seawater, marine mud, and other oceanic elements. Tried-and-true therapies from massages and facials, to soaks and saunas are also available. You can also check into one of the spa-focused Samsara suites and cabins for direct, private access to the spa, and in-room aroma diffuser, and ayurvedic tea kettle. Standard cabins come with a private bath and flat-screen TV, while mini-suites offer upgraded furnishings and a pillow menu.

Deliziosa has four dining venues, offering a wide variety of cuisines. For expertly-prepared entree, visit the ship's official dining room, Ristorante Albatross, or pay a little extra for a posh meal at Club Deliziosa, where local regional specialties are on the menu for the ports the ship visits. More than 50 different dishes are served each day, and the ship uses over 3500 ingredients on each cruise. Those who love Italian will be glad to know that up to 50 different pasta dishes are served on each cruise. When it comes to dessert, Caffeteria Sugar offers both decadent chocolates and delicious coffee creations.

Facilities

Features

  • Dining: The oddly named Albatross restaurant (obviously Italians don’t have the same prejudice against the bad luck seabird as Brits) is the main dining room, then there’s the Samsara for those staying in Samsara class staterooms , a couple of casual eateries and the Club Restaurant which is a pay-extra venue for which reservations are required
  • Family amenities: Squok Club and TeenZone feature on this ship, and good programming for children is provided, but there is always the issue of multiple languages to contend with especially for younger children who are not used to multicultural approaches to entertainment
  • Top accommodation: A new departure for Costa is the Panorama suite which is aptly named for its panoramic balcony with dining furniture. The suite also has a queen-sized bed, and Jacuzzi bath
  • Entertainment and facilities: Fairly standard mid-sized ship offerings of good music, lots of dancing plus the Costa staple fare of comedy and magic acts that don’t rely too much on a mutual language
  • Tipping: Something called ‘hotel service charge’ is added to each person’s bill – it’s around £5 per day at present, plus a 15% bar bill surcharge.
