Africa Cruise Holidays

A cruise around the coast of Africa is likely to include ports of call at Cape Town, Durban & Port Elizabeth. Zanzibar and Mombasa are also calling points on some cruises, check the itinerary for more information. Cape Town in particular has so many things to do. A trip up Table Mountain by cable-car is a trip well worth doing, allowing a spectacular view across the city.

Sights to see

Sights to see

This part of Africa has many vineyards that produce wine now sold all across the world; this is the perfect opportunity to sample world-class wines at origin. Another interesting trip that we recommend is a trip to Boulder Beach to see the penguins that live there – a most unusual sight and one that will definitely be a photograph opportunity.

There is the chance to visit real Zulu tribes and villages allowing you to understand and experience a very different way of life. The coastline of Africa is a secret wonder and you will be amazed at what can be seen from the deck of the ship.

Food

Food

In Cape Town in South Africa, it is still possible to enjoy traditional African dishes. A range of interesting vegetables can be found in food of this area such as yams, okra, cassava and black eyed peas. Soups and stews are a firm favourite that often have sweet potato as a key element with a range of spices. Curry is also a popular dish served with rice but different in style to Indian cuisine.

Useful Information

Useful Information

The Zulu tribes produce many handmade gifts and these are popular among tourists and are very affordable, they include many objects, intricately carved of wood.

It can be very dry and very dusty, always ensure you protect yourself from the midday sun.

Cape Town is well connected and has so many things to offer in near proximity as mentioned above. It would be a struggle to fit everything into one day and we would recommend up to three nights here pre or post cruise.
