A Casino Visit

At home I never visit any Casino’s or gamble for that matter but whilst on my cruise I can’t tear myself away from the Roulette table, it beckons me almost every day to come in and try my luck.

Whilst on board I tend to stay with Roulette as I’m not too familiar with other games, I do know how to play Black Jack but it’s not as exciting as watching the ball on that wheel bounce across the numbers as you wait with anticipation to see where it will land. It was my 3rd cruise before I even looked in the casino, I wasn’t interested but then the bug bit me and I thought oh well I’m on holiday why not! I watched for over an hour other people place their bets and it was as though every number I predicted ultimately came up! A gentleman turned to me and said OK what’s next, without hesitation I uttered 21. The entire table placed bets on 21, I thought to myself please land on 21 or I’m going to be thrown overboard. So the wheel spins, and spins the ball bounces off numbers and where does it end up, on 21. I was gobsmacked, one guy got back I’m sure over £100 worth of chips so he throws me a £5 chip, and you are my lucky charm he said. I played with winnings from this chip for my entire fortnight whilst on board. I returned home with about £65 in cash and a nice bracelet I’d purchased in Gibraltar from my winnings. I’ve not been quite so lucky since but it’s one of those things.

The best way to approach the Casino is to go in telling yourself your simply there to have a good old time, never enter with the assumption you will win anything because a few quid later and no wins will just make you find the nearest bar. Enjoy the atmosphere and the little flutter, and who knows you could end up being lucky.
