A quiet evening watching the ocean go by

I have many a favourite spot on the ship when I am on holiday but I find the most relaxing place to be as far aft as possible where you can sit and watch the ships trail fade out into the ocean below.

The best time I find to grab five minutes is when the majority of people are dining or getting ready too. Many areas become less crowded and more calming and you can often escape in your own mind and take in the beauty of the ocean around you

The sun has set and the ships pools are softly lit, the outside lights are glowing and the overall atmosphere is one of peace and utter tranquillity. You can relax watching the soft white foam created by the ships propellers fade into the dark of the deep blue sea whilst enjoying a nice chilled cocktail and your own company

Cruising is very therapeutic, day times bring new adventures or peaceful sea days and the evenings are quite simply mesmerising. The feeling of being totally calm and at one with yourself washes over you faster than you could possibly imagine. I feel this is a big reason why many people become avid cruisers and the wait between cruise holidays then becomes almost unbearable.

There’s just something about being on a ship in the middle of the ocean, you truly feel escaped from the world and no matter what worries you had before you boarded you will find they simply diminish in the blink of an eye

I SO agree with you. Very well written. It was almost relaxing just reading it! Shew, you've just whet my appetite to get started planning this year's cruise! : )
