onboard cruise ship gift shop

When I go on a cruise especially if I am travelling with my young sister she always heads straight for the onboard gift shop

Any and every branded item is available to buy and last year she managed to spend quite a few pennies on branded items like pens, pencils and notebooks.

Are we all drawn in by these things? I often see other cruisers onboard wearing branded t-shirts or caps not just from the cruise ship they are on at the time but from others out there, some of which I am sure should now be collector’s items.

I personally enjoy browsing through the branded items onboard, especially the little things like teddy bears and bathrobes. I know we don’t need these things but we often cannot help ourselves when it comes to purchasing them. I mean after all we are on holiday and a little splurge here and there can surely be forgiven, I hope

It really is like we can’t help ourselves, we have to take home a souvenir of our ship, well I do. I have cruised two years running on the same ship and I am sailing on her again this summer. On both of the past cruises all I wanted was a branded teddy bear. Yes I am a grown woman but I really wanted this specific teddy bear. I told myself oh there’s no hurry but both times I went to purchase this little bear he had sold out! This year I am determined I will have him so, I have decided to pre buy him and once I get onboard and to my cabin he should hopefully be there already waiting

Recently Norwegian Cruise Line opened and online store where you can purchase branded items both pre and post cruise, I think this is a brilliant idea and would personally like to see other cruise lines follow suit.
