Cruising the positives and negatives: part two
So part two has arrived, the negative side to cruising. It took me much longer to put this together than it did part one as it truly is hard to list even one negative aspect to the experience of a cruise holiday but, I did manage to find a few
It seems though that I even managed to find a positive aspect to a few of the negative ones, I just can’t help myself
Cruising the Negatives
They don’t last long enough, even a world cruise still would not be long enough
If you refuse to get off you will be reluctantly taken off
You can’t take the life jacket home and amuse all your friends with your one of a kind souvenir
It can take a little while to disembark, this adding to the torment of actually having to come to terms with the fact you MUST leave the ship and head home
If you are seated with people during dinner you just don’t seem to connect with you CAN NOT throw them overboard
The wait between cruise holidays borders on sending you over the edge of sanity
If you are afraid of heights don’t look down from the top deck, it’s pretty high. It is always easier to look down though when at sea rather than the concrete dock
There’s always some “my ships better than your ship” rivalry between cruise passengers on different ships, but obviously yours is always the best
I have to go more or less the length of the entire country to get to Southampton
If sitting aft (at the back) you can sometimes get sprinkled with soot from the funnel, great if you are wearing white shorts
People hogging sunbeds with towels but no physical human being is placed upon it
If you sit at the front in the theatre or arena and ultimately decide the show really isn’t for you then, sorry but you’re stuck there until the bitter end and if it is a comedian you are watching then moving really is not advisable now is it (smiles)
The wind can sometimes be rather strong and make the outer doors feel like ten ton weights
Whilst sailing over a rather large swell it can be virtually impossible to take even half a step, but on a plus side you can roll down the deck as the ship also comes down from the wave
Sun baked decks that can sometimes burn the skin off the bottom of your feet but, again a plus to this is we would all be complaining if it was raining
I never seem to win as much as I want too in the casino
The cabin bill can sometimes come in slightly above OK a lot above budget
The ocean is the ocean and can sometimes be a little wild
The possibility you may roll down the gang plank on your return rather than walk
So these are a few of my cruising negatives, I wonder what you think? Please feel free to leave a comment and share your own cruising negatives, even though I am sure we can find a way to make them positive (smiles)
