Famous people on board cruise ships

We recently ran a survey here at CruiseCompare to find out who the most popular celebrity on board a cruise ship would be, the winner by a mile was Leonardo Di Caprio. So I can’t quite imagine bumping into him whilst sunning myself but I have ran into a few recognisable faces on past cruises

About 3 years ago whilst on board P&O’s Oriana a few of the people I had made friends with were adamant I had to go to the theatre on one particular evening as Lilia and Darren from Strictly Come Dancing were on board and would be performing. Now I’m not quite a “Strictly Come Dancing” kind of woman but I was dragged along to watch the show. We got there early which was just as well as the theatre was jam packed! I have never seen a theatre on a cruise ship since as full as what this one was. Overall it was quite a good show and afterwards you could have your photograph taken with both dancers and then once printed it was signed and delivered to your cabin

Last year was quite a good one, I bumped into Andrea McLean, she presents Loose Women on ITV1 daytime. Clearly holidaying with her family and trying to work out where a particular bar was I mentioned “you need to walk right the way aft and it’s above you”. After a bit of small chit chat I couldn’t help myself and asked her “so what’s the weather forecast for tomorrow” her being a former GMTV weather girl I know it was corny but I couldn’t stop myself. Her response was brilliant “sunny and hot I hope or I may well get lynched”.

That’s another nice thing about cruising, during a beach holiday you very rarely bump into anyone you recognise from the world of film, music or TV and I’m sure if you did there would be no time to actually talk yet many famous faces grace our cruise ships and more often than not you can sit and actually have full conversations with these people and walk away feeling like you have known them all your life.
