It's time to sail away on your cruise
I never get bored of cruising nor talking about it, as you may well be able to tell. Meeting the ship is not always the first thing that makes your cruise holiday feel real, my friend is cruising with me in July and it will be her first cruise. She keeps saying to me “it doesn’t feel real I can’t believe I am going on a ship” followed shortly after by another excited comment along the lines of “I think for me it will not be real until i actually see the ship”.
I take a slightly different perspective when it comes to knowing my holiday is finally here. Yes I arrive at Southampton and my eyes light up as if I were a child at Christmas but I don’t feel it is truly there and I am actually going away until the engines finally start. If you have cruised before you will know all too well what that feeling is like. You stand on one of the open decks surveying the land and sea in front of you eagerly waiting for those ropes to be untied, minute by minute it gets closer to your sailing time and then all of a sudden everything around you starts to shake and vibrate. This is it the engines have been started and it is time to set sail.
I never get bored with this feeling, it gives me goose bumps every single time. Leaving Southampton is the best thrill of the whole holiday, this is the beginning of yet another amazing experience and another however many weeks that will remain imprinted on your mind forever.
