Pick a cruise Ship, any Ship
I asked a question recently on our facebook page which was “if you could sail on any ship in the world past or present which ship would it be and why” it sparked a lot of interesting answers but I just couldn’t pick only one. Because of this I decided I’d write my picks down here, where I have a little more room to talk.
So my first pick would have to be RMS Titanic, ok so not a happy ending but I’m sure she was a marvel to see. I would drift from room to room exploring everything and anything I could. I would touch, taste and smell everything. Imagine the chance to go back in time and step aboard this magnificent vessel, to walk along her promenade deck and breathe in that fresh sea air. If only things had been very different for her they could also be very different for us now.
Second would be The Mary Celeste. I find the story surrounding her extremely interesting, to come across her in the middle of the ocean and find not a soul on board, fascinating. To go back in time and sail aboard this vessel could yield many answers to her story, did her crew jump overboard because of an underwater earthquake? Or was it in fact something more mysterious altogether.
Third pick would have to be the original Queen Mary, although still with us as a hotel I imagine it’s not quite the same as sailing on her. I would join her on her maiden voyage, sneaking on board my digital camera too so I could show you all once I returned from my journey back in time.
Last but certainly not least I would jump to the present day and sail on board the American Queen, or any Mississippi Riverboat for that matter. I think they are truly awesome to look at. They are so over the top in design and full of sharp colours. I think of these and automatically in my head hear a low toned American man telling me “Welcome aboard Ma’am”.
