Royal Caribbean offers drink packages

Royal Caribbean International is to offer various drinks packages on three of the lines 21 strong fleet of ships.

There are various packages available all at a cost per day charge. The more you pay then essentially the more you will get but is it really worth it, I suppose if you have cruised before you will be able to see straight away if the prices of the packages set out would in fact save you money throughout your holiday or not

The beer and wine package is offered at a cost of $29 per person per day. This covers all beers and house wines by the glass. There would also be a 25% discount on other wines and liquors.

The classic package is at a cost of $39 per person per day and includes all beers, house wine by the glass, all liquors (excluding premium and speciality brands), cocktails and again a 25% discount on all other wines and speciality liquors.

The premium package is at a cost of $49 per person per day, this is essentially the classic package with the added extras of it also covering glasses of wine that usually sell for up to $10, premium liquors and this time a 25% discount on all bottles of wine, glasses of wine over the $10 mark and speciality liquors.

The drinks packages will be available on Independence of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas and Legend of the Seas, all of which are ships that tend to cater to those outside the USA. Royal Caribbean said it is responding to consumer demand.

Royal Caribbean’s UK executive Jo Rzymowska said "Royal Caribbean International has developed these new packages to enable our guests to make their holiday more relaxing and enjoyable by paying one set price for a wide variety of drink choices.”

Independence of the Seas is a UK based ship in the RCI fleet, I imagine the drinks packages will be quite welcome for the line’s UK cruisers

What do you think?

I think it's a great idea and should be on all Royal Caribbean ships!!!!

Is there a maximum number of drinks per package? If not, I think most people who cruise would definitely buy the packages - it also lets you plan you costs so you know what your bill will be at the end of the cruise. I agree with other comments, offer this on all cruises.
