Some fun little ships
During my cruise adventures I have come to see a varied array of quirky and interesting ships. Some I am not quite sure of what the concept behind them is and others are genuinely something to make you smile.
Last year in Barcelona I had the pleasure of seeing a Disney ship for the first time, they never really appealed to me until I saw the Disney Magic and I was amazed at her adornments. Hanging off the back was Goofy himself! Dangling across the rear of the ship he was posed as though painting the name directly onto the ships body. The ship itself was beautifully painted and very pleasing to look at.
I have also in my time seen many a Moby ferry, now these are great! Especially if you have little ones with you. You are simply lying back enjoying your day when all of a sudden you catch a glimpse of what seems like a 60 foot image of Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters. If I recall correctly they are daily ferries across to Sardinia, but don’t quote me on that one. I spend more time admiring the cartoon characters than I do questioning the ships ultimate location. I mean after all I am already wrapped up in my own destinations.
Another interesting sight is a ship from the AIDA fleet. These are German based vessels and each one is teasingly smiling at you as it glides past. They more or less all look very similar. Interestingly they have rather lovely feminine eyes and lips sprawled across the metal work. Again though they are quite pleasing to the eye.
If on your travels you ever come across some quirky and interesting ships remember to share them on our website and on our facebook page too!!
