P&O's Oceana is a ship ideal for all age ranges, she is also quite popular with familys due to her slightly more relaxed atmosphere. A mid sized ship with 4 swimming pools and 6 whirlpools she really is extrodinary. Oceana also boasts one of the best if not the best atrium within the entire P&O fleet, according to many passengers it really will leave you speechless.

What's special about P&O Cruises?
- Brand history – founded in 1837 this line has a long pedigree and is British to its core with a host of features that appeal to a clientele that is predominantly UK based
- Signatures of the line – two kinds of ship, adult-only and family-friendly, mean that both kinds of cruise enthusiast are made welcome
- Number of ships – currently 7 but with one ship transferring out very soon it will be back to 6
- Best for – British enthusiasts: there’s everything British about P&O from the tea-making facilities on board through to the entertainment
- Special dining features - Arcadia and Oriana have Gary Rhodes restaurants, while Ventura features Marco Pierre White and Azura has an Olly Smith themed restaurant that focuses on dining and fine wine
- Special suite features – a fairly classic approach to suites here, with a rather sedate feel
- Special kid features – Family friendly ships feature Noddy and Mr Bump
- Entertainment features – British themed entertainment predominates with participation shows based on British TV formats
- Spa and fitness features – not especially noted for spa and fitness, P&O has upped its game with new facilities on Ventura and Azura
- Routes – virtually all ships are home-ported in Southampton and generally offer itineraries to the Med, Northern Europe and British speaking Atlantic although there are at least two world cruises a year
Why Choose Oceana?
- Dining: Two dining rooms, several casual eateries and three pay extra premium dining venues including the new Marco Pierre White input to Jardin. Many people comment favourably on the Indian waiting staff who are unobtrusive and yet very attentive
- Family amenities: Three clubs covering children from two to 13, and lots of appearances from children’s TV stars with a very British bias, but these child-friendly extras can vanish outside the school holidays so check before booking
- Top accommodation: Refurbished in 2003 when she moved from Princess Cruises, there are still some less than stellar features to the accommodation. Even the biggest suites still only have a curtain between the sleeping and living areas, and the two doors into the bathroom look useful but can just lead to embarrassing situations
- Entertainment and facilities: rather like reruns of comfortable family TV viewing, the Oceana entertainment is cosy rather than cutting edge, on the other hand, there are some great small venue musical acts worth seeking out
