Celebrity Summit, which debuted in 2001, was the third of Celebrity’s Millennium-class ships to undergo a multimillion-dollar refurbishment. Summit offers guests the amenities of a grand hotel, with an impressive guest-to-staff ratio of 2.5 to one, assuring that each one of its passengers will be met with individualised service. During the revitalisation at the start of 2012, most of Summit's existing cabins and public spaces were refurbished and the ship received a number of Solstice-class upgrades. The end result means the ship has maintained an air of casual elegance but with a decidedly modern ambience, complete with contemporary amenities and finishes. Whilst onboard Summit, you would never guess you are sailing on a ship that is more than a decade old.
The refurbishment included the addition of 107 AquaClass cabins, which come with added amenities, including Hansgrohe spa showers, complimentary access to the ship's Persian Garden thermal suite and AquaSpa. The 25,000 square foot spa is possibly one of the two or three largest at sea, under a dome with a free thalassotherapy pool. In the spa, you can enjoy a wide array of pampering treatments, such as the Thai Herbal Poultice Massage or the luxurious Elemis Oxydermy Facials, and then enjoy a bite to eat as the calm tranquillity of AquaSpa carries over into a delightfully relaxing cafe. Here you can enjoy the fresh, simple and flavourful dishes that exemplify "spa cuisine", including fresh fruit smoothies, crisp salads, lean cuts of meat, and succulent seafood.
Summit is a rare Celebrity Ship where children are fully catered for. The Fun Factory offers a puzzle wall, play area, computer games section, movie room and crafts area plus a broadcast room and video game arcade. The Tower is the teen club and disco, which is in fact the only one in the Millennium-class series of ships, and so from four to sixteen, your children will be amused from morning to night, including sleepovers in the Factory itself.
Whilst the kids are occupied, you can focus on enjoying the best amenities and activities onboard Summit. Enjoy the Conservatory, a stunning and meticulously designed garden with flourishing plant life, go to the library and read a book in the peace and quiet, or just wander around the ship and take in the breathtaking ocean views. In the evening, the ship has great live performances, live music, Broadway-style acts, and even current movies on offer. You can also enjoy the onboard nightclub, casino and numerous bars and lounges, late into the night.
