Queen Victoria is the latest addition to Cunard’s illustrious fleet. She is a thoroughly modern ship but features the same red and black livery, sumptuous interiors and wide open decks for which Cunard is renowned. Queen Victoria set sail on her maiden voyage from Southampton to Amsterdam and Northern Europe in December 2007, and has had an extremely successful few years, with many passengers enjoying the slightly smaller size she features, in comparison to the Queen Mary 2. Measuring nearly 300 metres in length, Queen Victoria is Cunard's second largest cruise liner with a maximum passenger capacity of 2,014 over 12 decks. The stunning ship features over 1,000 staterooms, two thirds of which have their own balcony where you can relax in the sea air and sunshine. All rooms boast five-star finishing touches, such as bath robes and slippers, fresh fruit on request and a daily shipboard newspaper.
For relaxation guests can visit Cunard's Royal Spa, which comprises breathtaking ocean views, relaxation areas, beautifully appointed treatment rooms, indulgent therapies and a panoramic glass-encased Fitness Centre. Facilities include the exclusive thermal suite, hydrotherapy pool and state-of-the-art gym equipment. The aerobics studio offers Pilates, Yoga, resistance workouts, and Zumba classes to really get your blood pumping. If you want more active things to do, there are sports courts, swimming pools and traditional deck sports such as quoits and shuffleboard. You can also try your hand at something completely new in one of the fencing classes, which are the first at sea.
To ensure guests get complete satisfaction on their Cunard cruise holiday, the Queen Victoria offers a superb variety of activities and entertainment. Guests can visit the fascinating Cunardia museum or browse through 6000 books in the impressive two-storey Cunard library for daytime activities. In the evening there are numerous cocktail bars and lounges, a casino and the three-storey Cunard Royal Court Theatre, where you can see a stage show or sit back and enjoy a screening of your favourite movie. Younger members of the family will also have plenty to do as the Play Zone is filled with toys, games and activities. Children aged one to six have a full schedule of activities from story time to arts and crafts, games and movies, while those from seven to sixteen can test their skills on 28 PlayStation 3 video games, and challenge one another to air hockey and foosball.
Onboard the magnificent Queen Victoria, the all British Cunard crew will continue to live up to their first-class reputation as they serve up a delightful array of culinary creations. With a fabulous choice of restaurants onboard, including the Queen's Grill and the Britannia Restaurant, guests will enjoy a fine dining experience every night of their cruise holiday.
