Facilities

Features

  • Dining: Two main dining rooms, several casual eateries and one pay-extra venue (Johnny Rockets) make up the offerings on this older ship
  • The two main dining rooms are Starlight, located on Deck Four, and Monlight, located on Deck Three. Both offer the traditional, two sitting arrangement for dinner, with first sitting at 1830, and second at 2100. In addition, Starlight also offers the option of MyTime Dining, where passengers can turn up for a table at any time between 1830 and 2200. Please note that both dining rooms offer the same menu
  • Sorrento's is an upper deck pizzeria that also offers a different Panini of the day every day. Open all day. Complimentary
  • Windjammer Marketplace is the ship's large, self service casual eatery, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Complimentary
  • Gelateria L'ondo serves up ice cream from 1030-2300 each night, and also allows passengers to make their own favourites, complete with added toppings. Cost is from $3.50 per scoop
  • Johnny Rockets is a fifties themed retro diner, open for lunch and dinner. One off cover charge of $4.95 gets you grilled chicken, burgers, fries and other fast food favourties, but milk shakes and floats all incur an extra charge
  • Compass Deli offers soups, Quesiladas, Panini, sweet crepes and cookies between 1130 and 1830 daily. Complimentary venue
  • Cafe Latte-tudes has free cakes and pastries, and speciality coffees at an extra charge. Open from  0700-2300 daily
  • Family amenities
  • Top accommodation: The Grand Suite is 382 square feet: not large by industry standards but the 2007 upgrade has given some great new features to the suites, including a very nice large balcony
  • Entertainment and facilities: The show-lounge has annoying pillars, but most lounges have some kind of music on offer and there are a lot of daytime fun activities and quizzes, themed to a US audience
  • Tipping: A rather complex system operations on RCI ships: tips can be pre-paid in advance (this is mandatory if you choose ‘My Time’ dining) or added to your onboard account or paid in cash when the cruise ends. There’s a 15% surcharge on bar bills.
