P&O Cruises has announced that two of its Australian cruises have been cancelled. The Melbourne Cup Cruise on 30th October and the Fiji Cruise on 13th November will not run because of an engine fault on Pacific Jewel which developed two weeks ago and led to the cancellation of the 11 night Pacific Sunsets cruise.
The company has said that when a full repair is complete, Pacific Jewel will return to normal service and urged passengers to have faith in … Pacific Jewel for the future and … take advantage of rebooking before the end of 2010, to have the best choice of cabin allocation for cruises departing up until 30th November 2011.
A team is flying from France, where the engine was built, to assist in the repair process.
