Norovirus Outbreak on Queen Mary 2

According to sources 4 passengers have been removed from the Queen Mary 2 for failure to comply with quarantine guidelines and practices following an outbreak of the norovirus within the ship.

Cunard spokeswoman Jackie Chase confirmed four passengers refused to obey ship protocol and remain in their cabins for 48 hours after consulting with the ship's medical team. This left Cunard with no choice other than to ask them to disembark the ship in Curaco.

The bug has been affecting Cunard and its passengers now since before Christmas, on one cruise affecting more than 150 passengers, this cruise is currently still sailing and is due to end on January 3rd.

The Norovirus is a nightmare for any Ship it’s staff and passengers. The close proximity of everyone within a ship means the rate it can spread is very fast indeed. The bug causes severe vomiting and is very uncomfortable. One of the best ways to deal with this bug is simply by washing your hands.

Cunard insists the outbreak is now firmly under control, we are sure all will be back to normal on board the QM2 in no time.
