Ship: Sirena
Line: Oceania Cruises
Norwegian Cruise Line is making some ship and port changes for the 2012 season, one of which being the decision to take the Norwegian Sun out of Port Canaveral for the 2102-2013 season due to better demand in other markets.
The Norwegian Sun will be NCL’s 3rd ship in Miami sailing mainly Southern Caribbean cruises which will begin in October 2012. It will join sister’s Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Jewel which also operate Caribbean cruises.
A spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line said they would consider returning to Port Canaveral when the fleet size increases but that currently they have more demand in Europe. NCL also said they would announce soon which ship will replace the Norwegian Jewel in New York.
The Norwegian Dawn will also replace the Norwegian Star in Tampa again offering Caribbean Cruises beginning November 2012 and the Norwegian Star will in turn move to New Orleans. The Norwegian Star replaces the Norwegian Spirit which will be the Cruise Line’s fourth ship based in Europe.
