Fred Olsen Cruise Line has recently become a .com after dropping the .co.uk from their website URL.
Fred Olsen was voted best cruise line in November in the Cruise Critic’s UK industry awards. The award was given to the cruise line as they are “best cruise line for seeing the world”.
The cruise line has made the change to reflect their international nature.
According to their managing director, Nigel Lingard the change is one of several to have been made within the tech side of the business. They have also recently set up a Facebook page, YouTube channel and have started Twittering.
It looks as though Fred Olsen is finally catching up with the rest of the world’s cruise lines in regards to keeping a social networking presence. It is a quick and easy way for the cruise line to interact with it’s many passengers past and present and have updated info sent out at the click of a button.
