Portsmouth Port is changing it’s name, instead of sailing from the current Continental Ferry Port you will now Cruise from Portsmouth International Port.
This is predominantly down to the fact the port is getting a lot of cruise ships there this year.
A huge 40 cruise ships will be calling at the port, this is a massive jump since 2010 when only 10 ships used the port and services.
Currently scheduled to use the Port are Swan Hellenic, which is actually making Portsmouth it’s new homeport for summer no-fly cruises. Voyages of Discovery, Hebridean Princess, Compagnie du Ponant which is a French cruise line and Hurtigruten.
The Port will undergo massive changes as plans include the building of a new terminal, dredging the water outside the port to allow larger ships to come and go at different stages of the day depending on the tide.
