More heroin found on Royal Caribbean Ship

Federal agents have found nearly $100,000 worth of heroin and cocaine aboard Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas.

The discovery of drugs aboard the vessel is the second such discovery on the ship in less than a month. According to sources the discovery was made by U.S. Custom and Border Protection agents. The drugs were found in a locker located within an area that is largely limited to employees.

This discovery comes less than a month after agents found heroin and cocaine in the possession of an Enchantment crew member. Three arrests were made at that time and all face charges of conspiring to import drugs into the USA.

Enchantment of the Seas had literally just returned from a 12 night Caribbean cruise, ports of call on the itinerary included the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Maarten and the British Virgin Islands.

Royal Caribbean International released the following statement: "Royal Caribbean International maintains a strict zero tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs on its ship’s, we take various steps to prevent the transport of illegal narcotics, including working closely with U.S. Customs and Border Protection."
