Canary Islands from Tenerife
Date: 29 Nov 2025
Duration: 7 nights
Ship: Azura
Line: P&O Cruises
The first new Oceania cruise ship to be built since the line’s founding nearly a decade ago was christened on Saturday in a glorious ceremony along the Miami waterfront.
Entertainment tonight host Marty Hart served as godmother for the vessel during an event that included performances by a Flamenco guitarist, violin group and a solo singer.
"I am so touched by the beauty of this ship," Hart told the audience before naming the vessel. "Everybody at Oceania is so kind, so welcoming, so in love with this ship and so proud that it makes me feel proud to be her godmother, too."
The event included speeches by Oceania president Bob Binder along with Oceania founder Frank Del Rio. Del Rio spoke emotionally about his family’s emigration to Florida 50 years earlier from Cuba. He also commented "Just eight years ago Oceania was a start-up cruise line trying to break into an industry dominated by two titans, not many gave us a chance to succeed." He also went on to mention "She is the most beautiful, sophisticated and stylish ship launched in the modern era of cruising, a span of some 50 years.”.
Oceania Marina is the epitome of class and sophistication. A vessel to be thoroughly proud of and the chance to explore some amazing far away destinations.
