A man has been arrested in Mexico over the death of Allure of the Seas crew member Monika Markiewicz
Nelson Peres Torres, 24, confessed to hitting Monika in the head with a rock then throwing her into the ocean. We reported earlier how musician Monika Markiewicz worked for Royal Caribbean on board Allure of the Seas, her body was discovered on Saturday off the southern part of the island.
An autopsy determined her cause of death was drowning but that she had also suffered a significant blow to the head.
Perez Torres told investigators he met Monika at a bar in Cozumel where he worked and that the two were in a relationship. The suspect is quoted as saying the two were arguing when he pushed her against some rocks, hit her in the head with a stone and threw her into the ocean.
