Carnival breaks bookings record

Carnival Cruise Lines has smashed its previous record for the number of bookings made within one calendar week

The line set a one week reservations record booking 165,308 customers between February 7th and 13th. This way out stands their previous record which was set almost four years ago.

Carnival President and CEO Gerry Cahill noted that while the economy is improving, people are still seeking value. He suggested the value offered by a Carnival cruise, particularly the line's many close to home departure ports and its wide variety of short itineraries, is increasing their bookings. He also noted marketing and sales strategies along the lines of the company’s national “Didja Ever” campaign and a 72 hour sale offering free upgrades had also played a key part in the increased bookings.

Carnival is clearly on the right path and are proving that people still look for a good deal when booking their cruise. The rise in the amount of people cruising warrants fierce competition and clearly Carnival are on top of their game.
