A dense fog which has set in along the Gulf coast has caused severe delays to various ships and cruise lines and weather reports indicate it will get worse before it gets better
A number of cruise ships have been delayed because of the weather. Carnival Ecstasy was due to sail out of Galveston, Texas yesterday which was two days behind schedule, other ships experiencing similar defeats were Carnival Conquest and Voyage of the Seas.
The Carnival Ecstasy was due to embark on a five night sailing however due to the fog the itinerary has been cut to a three night cruise. Passengers were offered the chance to cancel for a full refund but many have opted to continue with their planned cruise but on the three night itinerary.
Carnival also offered Ecstasy passengers a 25% discount on a future two to five day cruise and a $45 per person meal allowance. Those who have chosen to continue with the cruise will receive a 50% refund, a 50% discount on a future two to five day sailing and a $45 per person meal allowance.
Yet again Carnival shows their loyalty to their loyal cruisers by offering a nice amount of incentives and reimbursements.
