P&O Cruises to launch new loyalty club

P&O Cruises have announced they will launch their new look loyalty club in April 2012

The new look now has six tiers instead of three and all are named after oceans and seas of the world. They are Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, Caribbean and the more exclusive Baltic and Ligurian.

Each comes with a range of benefits depending on your tier. They include discounts of up to 10%, complimentary drinks, discounted laundry service and annual gifts. Other features include early booking offers, priority booking, magazine and exclusive travel insurance offers

Currently portunus club members earn 10 points for every night they spend on a P&O ship, when the Peninsular club goes live these will automatically be tallied up and transferred to the new scheme. Many P&O loyal cruisers will have already received information explaining what tier they will qualify for at this current moment in time

Carol Marlow, P&O Cruises' MD, said passengers told her they wanted a more exclusive club. So that's what they have been given

To get to Baltic or Ligurian level passengers must have more than 2,500 points and have spent more than 80 nights on one of P&O ships within the three years before the qualifying cruise. I imagine this will be reserved for the world cruisers amongst us, and probably the crew

Pacific – 150-500 points

Atlantic – 501-1000 points

Mediterranean – 1001-2000 points

Caribbean – 2001 + points
