Norwegian Pearl will head to New York

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that the Norwegian Pearl will head to New York for the 2012-2013 winter seasom

Norwegian Pearl will be replacing the Norwegian Jewel as she heads out to the Caribbean for the winter 2012-2013 season. The Norwegian Pearl will join Norwegian Gem in New York, this giving the city two of the line’s three newest vessels.

Norwegian Cruise Line has said the Pearl will operate a series of 21 seven-day Bahamas and Florida cruises out of New York, along with three 12-day Southern Caribbean voyages. The Gem will offer a series of 24 nine-day Eastern Caribbean voyages and four 10-day cruises to Eastern Canada and Quebec.

Norwegian Cruise Line also announced the Norwegian Dawn would sail a series of seven day cruises to Canada and New England from both Boston and Quebec for five weeks starting Sept. 21, 2012.

The Norwegian Pearl's new schedule out of New York will begin on October 14th 2012. The ship's seven-day itinerary out of the city will feature stops in Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas; and Nassau, Bahamas. The vessel's 12-day Southern Caribbean itinerary will feature stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Castries, St. Lucia; Bridgetown, Barbados and St. John's, Antigua.

The Norwegian Gem's new 10-day sailings out of New York to Canada and Quebec, which begin on September 8th 2012, will feature stops in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Quebec City, Quebec (for an overnight stay); Corner Brook, Newfoundland; and Sydney, Nova Scotia. The Gem's new nine-day itinerary to the Eastern Caribbean will feature stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Samana, Dominican Republic.
