Princess Cruise ship to have glass bottomed Sea Walk

Princess Cruises has announced the line’s next ship will be called Royal Princess, a name that the line has in fact used twice before. They also revealed several new features

Reports confirm that the new Royal Princess weighing in at 141,000 tons will be the line’s largest ever ship and she will also feature an industry first, glass bottomed walkway of which will extend more than 28 feet off the side of its pool deck. This feature will offer amazing ocean views standing 128 feet above sea level

Princess Cruises president and CEO Alan Buckelew noted “You'll see we reached back in our past for a sentimental name, the original Royal Princess was also a ground breaking prototype when she was built in 1984.”

Royal Princess will have another cantilever feature on the port side of the ship, the SeaView bar which will have space for up to 20 people. Princess ordered the ship nearly one year ago and she is scheduled to greet us in May 2013. She will be the line’s first new vessel since 2008

Other confirmed features will include an adults only pool surrounded by private cabanas, of which these will supplement a small charge. The movie under the stars feature will also be added but apparently this too will also be bigger and better

Buckelew also commented "Princess Passenger’s will easily recognize our next ship as a natural progression in our fleet," he said. "We're taking the best features of our newest vessels that have been such customer pleasers, and taking them to the next level."
