Fred Olsen has announced it is pulling its only fly cruise Caribbean ship out of the area due to rising costs of air travel
Fred Olsen general sales manager Lol Nichols commented “This was not an easy decision to make, as our Caribbean fly-cruises have always been popular. We feel that the wide choice of ex-UK ports that we feature gives greater convenience to guests from all over the British Isles, and the addition of Braemar to the year-round ex-UK programme will allow for a greater variety of cruises.”
Braemar has been the lines main Caribbean ship for quite some time but the decision has been made to keep the 927 passenger vessel sailing exclusively out of UK only ports.
Fred Olsen said the end of the fly-cruise programme would not mean an end to Caribbean cruising, and that it would continue to operate ex-UK cruises to the Caribbean.
Braemar is one of the lines most popular ships and her sheer size lets her navigate areas simply inaccessible to the larger cruise liner. I am sure Fred Olsen has plans to add some wonderful ports to future itineraries of the now permanently UK based ship
