Carnival Splendor delivered

Carnival Cruise Lines has finally taken delivery of its largest ever cruise ship: Carnival Splendor. Although she won’t be named officially until 10th July, she begins her life with an inaugural, eight-day trip between Genoa and Dover today. The official ceremony will have classical musician and TV presenter Myleene Klass acting as godmother after which Splendor makes a three day voyage to Amsterdam. Splendor will accommodate 3,006 passengers and has a luxurious health and fitness facility on two levels with 17 private treatment rooms and a two deck tall children's play area. There is also Carnival's Seaside Theatre, a 270 foot LED screen displaying films and concerts.
