A young boy has been airlifted from the Carnival Dream after suffering from internal bleeding
The coast guard carried out the evacuation in a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter roughly 30 nautical miles north west of San Juan, Puerto Rico
The crew airlifted the fourteen year old boy and his mother from the ship on Tuesday after receving a call from late Monday night from the Carnival Dreams Captain
Lt.Cmdr Peter Jones, sector San Juan Command Centre Chief said "The success of this delicate and time-sensitive case is a tribute to the excellent working relationship we have with our maritime and local medical partners, Medical evacuations are always dangerous, and even more so at night. This young man was safely evacuated and delivered to 'Centro Medico' only due to the diligence and professionalism of all parties involved."
