Severe winds from a passing storm in central Florida separated the Carnival cruise ship from its dock at Cape Canaveral
The storms have caused havoc in the area, up-rooting trees and damaging many homes
Officials have stated the storms rolling through the area on Wednesday afternoon pulled the Carnival Pride from its moorings at the Cape Canaveral dock.
Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen said “crew and some guests were aboard the ship when the wind gust hit, but no one was injured”. The ship was returned to the dock, where it remained late Wednesday.
The cruise line apologized in a statement for "any inconvenience this incident may have caused its guests." And mentioned it had notified "appropriate authorities" of the incident.
