Candlelit vigils held for missing Disney Wonder crew member

Candlelit vigils have taken place around the world for missing Rebecca Coriam. She has been missing now for 2 weeks

The parents of 24 year old Rebecca joined more than 150 relatives and friends in her home city of Chester at 8pm on Sunday night. Candles were lit and roughly 40 Chinese lanterns were released into the sky “to guide Rebecca home”

Rebecca’s uncle, John Jennings told Sky News "So many people have written kind messages about Rebecca and it's given the family real comfort, we just feel so helpless at the moment, so when someone on the forum suggested this we were very touched."

People from as far as Australia, Canada and America pledges to do the same at 8pm in their time zones after a huge response to the idea on an internet forum

Five thousand miles away some passengers and crew on the Disney Wonder cruise ship were planning to light battery-operated candles to show their support for Rebecca's family.

Rebecca's uncle told Sky News he hoped the vigils would urge people to continue looking for his niece, he commented "We believe she's still alive and miracles can happen. We don't want a stone unturned. We want the coastline searched again. There's more we can do to look for her."

Police in the Bahamas where the Disney Wonder is registered said they have found no evidence to suggest foul play on board the liner.
