Silversea Cruises Prince Albert II to be renamed

Silversea Cruises has announced that the Prince Albert II exploration vessel will be renamed when she enters dry dock later this month

Her new name will be gracefully “The Silver Explorer”

Silversea is renaming the luxury expedition vessel in order to reinforce its brand name and align it with the cruise line’s five other ships, all of which have “silver” in their names

In a press release by the cruise line, Manfredi Lefebvre, Silversea's chairman, said that although the company would continue to support Prince Albert II of Monaco's charitable foundation, Silversea wanted to prepare for the possibility of adding more expedition ships, all of whom would also reflect the "Silver" name.

The only thing changing about Silversea's luxury expedition ship is its name. The Silver Explorer is a Lloyd's Register 1A ice-rated vessel offering marvellous opportunities for its guests to explore the Arctic and Antarctic (and all places in between).
