P&O Cruises new ship Adonia has the stars coming out

P&O Cruises newest and smallest addition to the fleet, Adonia, has the stars coming out for her naming ceremony

Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville is to act as the master of ceremonies at the naming ceremony at the launch of the line’s newest ship Adonia on May 21st.

Bonneville, who has appeared in Notting Hill and the Vicar of Dibley, will welcome Dame Shirley Bassey to the stage, who will name the ship with an official bottle breaking ceremony.

Commenting on the news, P&O Cruises managing director Carol Marlow said: ““We are delighted that such an eminent British actor has agreed to join us for the occasion, and we’re sure that it will add an extra element of glamour and distinction to the event.”

Adonia will carry just 710 passengers and will be exclusively for adults and she will be the smallest ship in the P&O Cruises fleet. She is joining P&O from sister line Princess Cruises where she has been sailing as Sea Princess
