Costa Cruises newest ship Costa Favolosa is nearing completion

The ship has been moved from the Fincantieri yard at Marghera where she was built, to the dry dock at nearby Trieste

During her stay in the shipyard the Costa Favolosa will have her hull coated and cleaned, in preparation for the sea trials scheduled later this month, when she will be put through her paces in the open seas, with a series of running tests on the ship’s systems, machinery and engines.

Costa Favolosa will weigh in at 114,500 gross tonnage tons and will be a symbol of Italian-made excellence plying the seas of the world.

Her naming ceremony is set for July 2nd and is to be held in Trieste’s Piazza Unità d’Italia, where it will be open to the public and the whole city, its theme will be a tribute to Italy.
