P&O cruises drinks price confusion

P&O may be reconsidering their drinks price policy – basically some cruises have drinks included in the overall price (but watch out, it doesn’t mean you get free wine at dinner, that you must pay for separately) and others don’t. You can expect to pay between 75 pence and £1.00 for mini can of soft drink up to £2.30 to £2.70 for a pint of lager.

On Fred Olsen prices are considered more reasonable, around £2.15 a pint of lager, for example and £10 for a bottle of dinner wine at the lower end of the wine menu. NCL, RCI and Princess have an unlimited soft drinks ‘card’ this means you pay a daily charge and then on top of that you pay a 15% gratuity, regardless of how many drinks you order – this can be negotiated and a lot of people are bargaining it down. Crystal serves soft drinks free but charges for alcohol.
