The maiden voyage of Oceania cruises newest ship Riviera has been delayed by 10 days.
Riviera will now embark on her maiden voyage on April 24th 2012 which is 10 days later than scheduled. Oceania is apparently delaying the ships maiden voyage to allow extra time for staff to familiarize themselves with the ship’s facilities.
Riviera’s maiden voyage was set to be a 10 night cruise however it has now been increased to a 12 night sailing. Guests who were originally booked on the 10 night sailing will be moved to the 12 night voyage at no extra cost, they will also receive $250 per person onboard credit as a gesture of good will.
Riviera’s maiden voyage, now a 12 night sailing is the Ancient Grandeur itinerary that visits Alexandria and Port Said, Haifa and Ashdod (Jerusalem), Alanya, Rhodes, Patmos and Kusadasi (Ephesus) before ending with an overnight stay onboard ship in Istanbul.
