It seems Carnival’s ship Carnival Pride is playing and winning a cat and mouse game with Hurricane Irene
The Carnival Pride is currently heading to Baltimore, Maryland, and is scheduled well ahead of the closing storm Irene according to a statement from Carnival Cruise Lines.
The Line said it has increased the ship’s speed in order for her to arrive early. She will now arrive on Saturday morning and disembarkation will begin at 7am. She was originally set to arrive on Sunday morning.
All guests must disembark on Saturday morning and afterwards the Carnival Pride will be moved to another location as directed by the United States Coast Guard where she will remain safely until Hurricane Irene passes.
Pride’s next voyage which was scheduled to depart on Sunday afternoon is now set to sail on Monday morning instead. Guests on both voyages will receive a one-day refund for the missed day of the cruise.
