Cruising is not as expensive as you think

Cruising really can give a package holiday a run for its money when it comes down to total cost

CruiseCompare has conducted various research since our launch in January 2011 and we really have arrived at the conclusion that cruising is extremely cost effective even in comparison to a land based package holiday.

It is not uncommon for a family of 4, this being 2 adults and 2 children (over the age of the free accommodation age limit) to pay less than £2,500 for a 2 week family holiday with an extremely popular cruise line. Remember this including all food onboard, accommodation and in some cases a free parking option at the port or free coach transfers.

For a family of 4 comprising of 2 adults and 2 children under the free accommodation limit it can work out at less than £2000 for a 2 week family holiday and again with an extremely popular cruise line.

The thing with cruising is that the earlier you book the more you get along with the option to in most cases pick your own stateroom. Usually the earlier you book you will be offered things like free parking or on board credit, however, if you decide to wait it pays to wait quite literally until the last minute. You may not get options like free parking or on board credit but you can usually pick the cruise itself up for a fraction of the price you just don’t know exactly where on the ship you will be. Obviously you will be onboard (they won’t make you sleep in a lifeboat).

Cruising is not expensive, it can be, but that would depending on your own spending habits and not the overall cost of the holiday.
