Saga Cruises newest ship is expected to be completed by February 2012
The Fincantieri ship yard has been awarded the multi-million Euro refit and refurbishment project of the latest ship to be acquired by Saga Cruises.
The 37,301 ton Bleu De France will enter dry-dock and work commence from November 2011. The ship will be transformed and all public areas shall be updated and refurbished, there will also be the addition of numerous passenger cabins and a brand new balcony deck.
Other work will include the repair of machinery, some pipework replacement and a fresh painting of her hull. Rudder and propeller maintenance will also be carried out.
When she emerges from dry-dock in February 2012 she will have been re-named the Saga Sapphire and will set sail on her inaugural cruise from Southampton to the glorious Mediterranean on March 26th 2012.
