Disney Fantasy Takes to Water

Disney Cruise Line’s newest mega build has taken to water for the very first time.

The Disney Fantasy, the newest to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet was floated out of dry-dock in Germany yesterday for the very first time.

The 2,500 passenger mega ship has been under construction for more than a year and is well on her way to being ready for her maiden voyage in March. Although there is still work to undertake before she is ready the major construction of the vessel is complete. All that is left now is for the 1,250 cabins onboard to undergo interior finishing along with interior finishing in other public spaces.This work will be carried out at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany

Sister ship to the 128,000 ton Disney Dream which debuted last year she will arrive in splendour as she sets sail to help Disney Cruise Line more than double it’s capacity.

Disney Fantasy will be similar to The Disney Dream in many ways but of course have her own unique style. She will feature nightliy entertainment which is strictly for adults called Europa along with the trade mark water coaster, AquaDuck and an interesting and entertaining new dinner show.

Disney Fantasy is scheduled to set sail on her maiden voyage on March 31st from Port Canaveral in Florida. This will be her home port and she will offer 7 night sailings to the Eastern and Western Caribbean islands.

Disney have geared up a notch or two in the last 18 months, they have seen the arrival of the new Disney Dream and have under taken the build of the Disney Fantasy. Both these new ships join their sisters Disney Magic who is now 14 years old and Disney Wonder who is in her 13th year.
