P&O Cruises has announced that the planned 2013 world voyage on Azura has been cancelled
Instead the Ventura sister ship will spend the winter in the Caribbean region soaking up some sunshine.
A P&O spokesman said A P&O Cruises spokesman said: “Based on the success of our recent world cruise programmes, we have added more world cruise capacity for 2013.
“Due to current economic circumstances, however, we are seeing a growing preference for shorter cruises which leads us to believe that it could become more difficult to fill an enlarged world cruise programme next year.
“In order to recognise this situation, we have taken the decision to redeploy Azura from her scheduled world cruise in 2013 and instead operate her in the Caribbean.”
P&O will still be offering world cruises on board Adonia, Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana this winter. In total visiting an impressive 55 countries across the world but Azura will not be joining them. Azura’s planned Grand Odyssey sailing was planned for 2013 and announced last June. The voyage would have been a 110 night cruise visiting 32 ports in 19 different countries.
