Rhapsody of the Seas enters dry-dock

Royal Caribbean International ship Rhapsody of the Seas has entered dry dock in Singapore for a $54 million refurbishment

the month long refurbishment is part of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Advantage upgrading programme and Rhapsody of the Seas is the line’s third ship to undergo these upgrades.

Adam Goldstein, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International said “With our US$300 million investment through 2014, no ship in our fleet will go untouched and our guests will have an unrivalled vacation experience no matter which destination in the world they visit or on what ship they sail on.”

During her month long dry dock stay she will be brought up to the same standard of some of the more modern ships within the Royal Caribbean fleet. There will be a number of new dining venues and entertainment venues. A Diamond Lounge for Crown and Anchor loyalty guests, fully transformed Viking Lounge, Royal Babies and Tots Nursery and a Concierge Lounge for suite guests and high tier loyalty guest. These are just to name a few.

The ship was also be kitted out with state of the art technical upgrades including ship wide WI-FI, electronic mustering, outdoor movie screen, iPads in every stateroom and a digital system to help guests navigate their ship easier.

All staterooms will also be refreshed with new furniture, carpet and upholstery.

Rhapsody of the Seas will then re-enter service a fully transformed and more modern vessel.
