Following on the news that Orient Lines (the company that used to operate Marco Polo) has been sold, Gerry Herrod (founder of Orient Lines) has bought a ship! Obviously a lot of people are putting 2 + 2 together. His new purchase, Aegean 1, was originally a Roll-on, Roll-off ferry. Then she served as a cruise ship for Dolphin Hellas, Golden Sun and Golden Star, but she’s been dry-docked for two years as the result of a dispute about her ownership, which now seems to be over. Is it possible that Orient and Herrod will come back together in the form of this veteran ship?
