The United States Coast Guard is currently searching for a man who jumped from the Carnival Fascination cruise ship.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, is thought to have jumped from the ship roughly 25 miles off Ponce De Leon inlet, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.
Crew members on board Carnival Fascination reported the man jumping overboard to the Coast Guard at 2:09am.It is said he was last seen by a security officer before jumping from the ship. The release also noted the passenger jumped from the ship’s 10th deck making the fall approx 87 feet.
The Carnival Fascination left Jacksonville’s cruise terminal on Monday at 5pm, she was en route to Key West, Florida.
No further details have been released.
