Holland America offering some stunning winter Caribbean deals.

If the idea of a bone-numbing winter cold at home leaves you feeling jaded, it might be worth considerating a quick, exhilarating break to the Caribbean with Holland America Line. With a fleet of exotic, highly styled ships offering superb food and service, as well as fabulous entertainment, there's an itinerary and price range to suit every pocket and palate.

Holland America line sails from the port of Fort Lauderdale, just north of Miami, on a series of seven night, sun splashed voyages to the highlights of the western and eastern Caribbean. The ships themselves include the fabulous new flagship, Koningsdam, the elegant Eurodam, and the sassy, effortlessly stylish Nieuw Amsterdam among others. Usually carrying a maximum of just 2,200 passengers, they are far more spacious and less crowded than ships of rival lines.

That space translates into a huge amount of room to relax and play in, whether taking in the sun on the Lido Deck by day, enjoying fine, Asian accented fare in the gorgeous Tamarind Restaurant at night, or maybe just savouring some sultry, late night jazz in the Ocean Bar. And, with their broad teak decks and rows of classic, wooden steamer chairs, Holland America ships offer grace to match all that space, too.

As far as accommodation is concerned, thse ships offer everything from plush, perfectly primped inside and ocean view staterooms, up to balcony staterooms complete with gorgeous rattan furniture outside. We sailed on the Eurodam, and found our balcony a wonderful place to finish the night, sitting outside with a glass of bubbly under the stars.

Should you really want to push the boat out, as it were, there is a whole string of larger, more expansive verandah and penthouse suites on board. These raise relaxation to the state of an art form on board, and also come with the added convenience of a private access concierge lounge.  And, if utter relaxation is your goal, the upper deck Greenhouse Spa on each ship will leave you completely chilled out, even in those sunny Caribbean climes.
