Oceania - regional review

Oceania is the region that covers the South Pacific islands and Australasia. In some brochures it’s also called the Micronesia region or Polynesia. Cruises to this area are increasing in popularity for two reasons: 1. They offer a luxury cruise on a reasonable budget 2. The ports and islands in this region are relatively uncrowded (compared to say, the Caribbean or Alaska) There are things to consider – ships sailing on this route full time may often be smaller than the average – and may lack some of the amenities of larger cruise liners. But more lines are now bringing ships to the region on a seasonal basis. The best weather for this region occurs between September and February, so you can often get a bargain repositioning cruise in late August or March.
