Passengers injured on cruise ship

Monster waves from a Pacific storm caused P&O Cruises' Pacific Sun to got into an intense rolling pattern yesterday which resulted in injuries to 42 passengers. According to eyewitnesses, the ship rolled so powerfully that crockery flew across the restaurants and in the casino, some machines came loose from the floor and moved across the room. The 42 injured people have been given medical treatment on board the 47,000-ton vessel in the wake of the storm which had 23 foot swells and 50 knot winds. Pacific Sun was due to in Auckland this morning, but the bad weather has delayed its arrival by 24 hours.
